Went out to Westlake this past weekend. Pondering the fate of the lost, and prompted by the heart of God, a few of us hit the Seattle downtown with the Gospel. We have not been downtown at all this year with the exception of one other outing a few weeks ago. We met with some other brothers faithful to the call at 12:00 and headed towards the Plaza. We took the intersection across from Nordstroms. Kinda started off easy, passing tracts and letting the Holy Spirit move within and upon us. Our preach shirts speak with boldness as we worked the corner. One-2-one's, personal witnessing and passing tracts. It can be hard to get people to take tracts in Seattle, people rushing around from store to store buying more stuff, most in to big a hurry to even care about what this holiday is supposedly to be about or what we were trying to tell them. Most are very suspicious of Christian anyway. They look at you like your some kind of religious person passing out religious stuff. Least that's what I felt like so...I started telling them that! I'm a religious person and I'm passing out my religious information and if they would like some. I am passing out Jesus junk and I really want to cram religion down their throats. We'll it worked because people started laughing, cuz they thought that was funny. Many took tracts and even thanked me for being honest! LOL! it was funny, but hey what ever it takes. I guess that's becoming all things to all men that we might win some huh? After while the banners went up, and Paul went up on the stool preaching Jesus for over an hour, calling souls to repentance and faith in the Living God. The Word went forth and not in word alone but with power and demonstration, conviction by the Holy Spirit. See, I know that the power to save men comes not from a mans own ability. It doesn't matter how great a speaker or how much ministry schooling he has. That's got nothing to do with OpenAirProclomation because the power is in the living Word not man. When the truth of the scriptures are preached not catering to man's felt needs but speaking the hard truths, it is powerful. People want truth not lies, God is angry with sin and He will by no means acquit the guilty. There is a judgment to come and He has commanded all men to REPENT or they will PERISH. He desires to give them mercy not wrath and that mercy is hidden in the sanctification that comes through faith in the finished work of the cross of Jesus. This is the truth and this is what moves the Spirit of God in the OpenAir. Many of those that profess Christ do not understand this and never will, because they will never step out of their comfort zones to seek and save the lost. They will sit in judgment but never reach out themselves, for fear of hurting someones feelings, even though it is the truth of God's Word that does the cutting. They would rather either not witness or give half truth for the sake of saving face. After Paul had preached a solid call Brother Bill took a turn then me. I preached for about an hour as the rest of the TEAM worked the people as the Spirit led them. Genesis to Revelation with the reason Christ came to save us from the death curse of sin. We as true follower of Jesus need to examine our selves and be honest. Have we failed to confess Christ openly? Are we ashamed of Jesus? Do we keep our mouths closed when we are surrounded by worldly people? Are we witnessing daily? Are we burdened for the salvation of souls? Have we a love for the lost? Is their any compassion in our hearts for those that are perishing? Jesus commanded us to "GO" into the world and preach the Gospel and said "I am with you even unto the end of the age" We have no excuses, and excuses will not be available when we stand at our judgment.
