July 14th, 15th Outreach

What a weekend! Alright!
What if? we all got together in downtown Kent?
We met at 11 on the corner. 5 soldiers, Paulie and I took the opposite side of the street. Set up the pulpit thrones carrying sandwich boards with bibles in hand, we started the open air proclamation. Tom with banner and bull horn, playing Come, Come, Come. We preached, We preached towards 2:00pm. The crowds got bigger and bigger. Waiting for the cross walk signals. Toby raising banner high and Lisa passing tracts. Thousands heard the word of God. My wife and kids showed up and Scott. Tracking machines and personal witnessing. All the while the air was filled with the way of salvation on both sides of the street. At one time preaching was going out on all four corners. Many took tracts and there was some conviction. It’s hard to preach to self made gods, idolaters of materialism, such as we have in this country. The biggest sin of man is self righteousness. And there was much, much to be seen in Kent. When people won’t receive Grace the preach becomes condemnation their death. It saddens my heart to see upper middle age folks in the prime and pride of their lives, so ignorant, stiff necked and deaf to the word of God. But praise God, His word goes out and never comes back void. Those that were suppose to hear heard.
Sunday
Five soldiers headed out to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge Christening. Brother Robert came down from Bellingham and we went to the streets armed with banner, two 45 watt, one 35 watt open air pronounce ators. When we got to the bridge, there was literally a sea of people. Thousands walking, running off the exit lanes. Brother Robert put up banner and started to preaching. I moved down further with Toby and Lisa. Tom moved further past us. We set up a regular gauntlet. Thousands passing us! As we preached the gospel of Jesus Christ went forth. Again much, much pride and self righteousness. Eyes and ears trying to ignore the truth. After a good hour or so, we were approached by Tacoma PD on bicycles and were commanded to turn around and leave said public property or we would be arrested for trespassing. I asked officer what we had done that was wrong, he told me he received over 100 phone calls, stating that we were making racial slurs. He became aggressive, we started to move up off the ramp. I started to preach at the people, as we were walking stating our first amendment rights were being violated. Most people looked, some mocked and told the cops to get us out of there. They escorted us to the end of the ramp accompanied by motorcycle patrolmen and then were told to walk another block west away from the bridge or we would be arrested. The bus stop was busy and people read banners. Brother Robert showed up a little later, said he had been lied to and we were asking him to meet us. They walked him all the way off the bridge with a full 4 motorcycle escort. He met up with us, we talked, got officers names and will be contacting a lawyer. But Praise God they didn’t stop us until after the word was preached in the open air. Thousands heard. So we loaded up the truck rejoicing and headed back to Kent Cornucopia Days. Found a place to park. Went to the same intersection we were at the day before. And lifted up banners, Robert with us this time. I saw Mr. Darrel Warren the Seattle GNN Leader, I shook his hand and was able to ask him how his ministry was going? We continued to preach the corners, banners with the open air proclamation and handing out tracts.
What if? Hundreds more went through the intersection and heard, read the word of God today. The crowds were smaller, but the same kind of people. Proud and arrogant tattoos and piercing. After a few hours we packed and split. The Word went out and I believe many thousands of people read, heard, the call of repentance with very little resistance other than the Tacoma PD from the devil. It was an exciting weekend. And if I could do it all over again, I would just for that one soul that God has saved. May the lamb receive the rewards of HIS sufferings.
